College Library
The college has a large library with a collection of 57,089 books and this number is constantly increasing. Students can access book-related services as per schedule.
Rules of Library: -
- Each undergraduate student may be issued three books at a time, and each postgraduate student may be issued five books at a time for 14 days. Books must be returned on a working day after 14 days. If the return date falls on a holiday, the next working day will be considered the date for return. Students who fail to return books on time will be fined one rupee per day for 60 days, and two rupees per book per day after 60 days.
- If a book is not needed by another student, it can be reissued for another 14 days. A student may reissue a book up to three times. If necessary, the librarian may take the book back from the student before the 14-day deadline.
- Rare reference books and periodicals are not issued. They may be used only in the library. The Principal may place any book in this category for the required period.
- Students are responsible for the books they borrow on their identity card and book card.
- If a book is damaged by handwriting, drawing, tearing, or other activities, the student borrowing the book will be responsible for the damage. They will be provided with a replacement book or paid for its current price. If a book is damaged during borrowing, the student should bring the defect to the attention of the librarian, otherwise they will be held responsible.
- Upon admission to the college, each student will be issued an identity card and book card. Students must complete the library identity card form and submit it to the library. The identity card and book card must bear the student's photo and signature, and the signatures of the librarian and principal are also mandatory. If these Cards are lost, a deposit of ₹200/- will be required for new sheets with the Principal's approval, and ₹100 will be required for one lost. If the identity card and booklet are issued for the third time, a fine of ₹400/- will be required, and if one of them is lost, a fine of ₹200/- will be required.
- Library hours for issuing/returning/exchange books and access other materials are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on all working days. However, 24x7 reading room is available for students and general public.
- The library has an e-library, which connects computers. It also has internet access and a photocopying machine. Students can access e-library services from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on all working days.
- The library will be closed during the summer vacation for library stock inspections, and all books must be returned.
Book Bank: The library also has a Bank-Bank branch, which houses approx 13,000 textbooks
for all classes. This branch provides new textbooks for the entire academic year to poor and
meritorious students, Scheduled Caste and Backward Class students. Such students should
submit their application to the Librarian after the notice is posted for books available from this
branch.
Reading Room: The library also has a reading room. Almost all Hindi and English daily
newspapers and major magazines are available in the reading room. The reading room
provides adequate facilities for students to read daily newspapers and magazines.
